I’ve had a few questions about the mural project from those outside Hogwarts, so I’m delighted to say that at our meeting last Saturday, we selected the founding of Hogwarts itself as our topic.

Thank you to all who came prepared with such excellent ideas, even though we could only pick one. (For the curious, other suggestions included the investiture of Our Lord, the Fall of the Ministry, scenes from Merlin’s life, Quidditch through the ages, and one focusing on various magical creatures.) It was quite a lively discussion.

Mrs Pencarrow is planning on a meeting Sunday afternoon at 3 for anyone at Hogwarts interested in discussion of some different approaches to the design. She expects to have the basic outline plotted on the wall next week. Those interested may also wish to keep an eye on her journal for daily posts on various portraits and other artwork at Hogwarts as well as the progress of the mural project - I’m finding her posts very interesting so far.

YPL students are reminded to keep their commitments for both painting sessions and the artwork tours and copies of the schedule are in all the house common rooms now. Non-YPL students are welcome to sign up anywhere there is space on the schedule at this point.

Right. I have delivered the whole thing, by hand, with my best and brightest smile in place. I don’t even want to think about how many inches of parchment there are total.

I’ve no patience for being out in public right now, even to see Gilly or Mum, so I came back from New London right after the various Ministry errands and I’m planning to hole up in the bath with a mindless book or three until it’s time to teach.

(If you’re not too tired after your newts, though, you are welcome to come up. Speaking of - any chance you might be able to meet me in New London after the committee meeting, next week? If it’s too difficult to arrange, I understand.)

And before you try to figure out how to bring it up, I’ve already stopped by to see Poppy and get a potion for tonight. Much as I hate them, last night was bad enough that, well. Even I’m admitting I need it.

I’m gl almost glad it’s pouring out - no need to set up early, just find the projection stones.

We've just finished. Things got a bit too intense between Bole and Cox, yet again. This time I didn't hesitate to make it clear that I'll bar both of them from their exam if they can't keep things sportsman-like.

Hooch should be up for covering next week- though I should probably do the courtesy of asking her first, I reckon. I can even arrange it so that I'm there for the meeting, if you'd prefer. Unless that would be awkward. Hard to say... only, they did mention me in their report a bit, yeah?

I'm glad you brought it up- I was wondering.

Oh, goodness. I have to say, the fact it's been Cox as well rather surprises me. He's a lamb in class with me, even with Chambers in class as a distraction as well.

For the meeting - honestly, I don't know. On the one hand, yes, it affects you. Us. On the other hand, it changes the shape of the conversation if you're actually in the room.

It'd be easier if I knew who the other invited parties were, I think, but no luck there when I tried asking today.

As to the last. Well. I'd say I'm trying to be sensible, but perhaps aiming for not being entirely foolish might be a more achievable goal.

I could tell you a joke about beaters and bat size and the competitiveness that comes with it, but it's not entirely in good taste and perhaps best told in private.

Well, perhaps I can be milling about nearby, you know, just in case. Just to remind them that they've made me a part of it, too. But not actually in the room, if you see what I mean. Your call, though. I won't fuss if you'd rather I not.

Ah, that sort of thing. Do tell me sometime, though?

Milling around nearby sounds quite the thing, actually. (And besides, that way, if they do want to talk to you, you're handy.) I went heavy on the "We are both busy professors with strong commitment to our other duties" line of reasoning, but who knows how they'll take it.

I wish I weren't driving you to fuss. But I do appreciate you wanting to. If that makes any sense.

And as long as I can confess to wanting to fuss and it satisfying us both...well, I think we're good.
