Poppy, a few quick things.
First, I think we've actually got a more or less final schedule for December 3rd. I plan to drop a copy off for you when I get a chance. It looks like there will be some interesting discussions, and some particularly useful material for the CCF group. (I'm also hopeful Raz will take Healer Stint off for a friendly drink somewhere in the midst of the afternoon, and make your life easier. And mine.)
Also, quick question for you, if you have a minute - have you had any odd encounters with Milland? Nothing urgent, but if you have time on Monday, tea perhaps, and a chat? (I'm sure you're busy today with preparations we all hope you won't need for tomorrow...)

Date: 2011-11-18 10:52 pm (UTC)Well. Perhaps you shouldn't pass that wish along.
Now about Milland, I haven't had any particularly odd encounters myself--apart from the unpleasantness one wet afternoon last month when we set up our bowling green in one of the disused classrooms; you'd have thought we'd done permanent harm, transfiguring the floor into turf; Dawlish never minded, but I digress. Your asking makes me think, though: I did have a conversation with Horace a week or so ago, and he started to say something about Milland, but we were interrupted and never came back to it.
Why? Have you had some awkwardness with the man?

Date: 2011-11-19 02:51 am (UTC)On Milland - he's been friendly enough toward me in passing. But my schedule's so different from most people's, I don't tend to run into him as much, or at least not at times when talking's convenient.
But something about his manner makes me wonder, and a conversation
with Razearlier made me wonder again. (And since I trust your judgement, thought I'd ask - and you've certainly seen any number of staff come and go in your time here.)Maybe it's just that I'm out of practice with someone quite so persistently outgoing here. (Raz is certainly friendly, but not as, well, insistent about it as Milland has struck me, and most of the staff are far more inclined to keep to themselves or a few closer friends.)
